680/The Fan, like Frank Wren of the Braves, is tying up its talent for the long haul.

In recent months, the sports talk station has signed extensions or new contracts with most of its biggest stars including Christopher Rude, Matt Chernoff, Sandra Golden, Buck Belue, Steak Shapiro, Chris Dimino and late last week, John Kincade.

Kincade, the longest-running host there paired with Belue going back to 2000, said he is grateful to the station for the contract extension. He has done more than 3,200 shows so far on the station and said he should pass 4,000 with the latest contract, which presumable goes at least three years. He also appreciates the fact the station also supports his side gig on weekends at CBS Sports Sundays from 6 to 9 a.m.. (He had previously done a solo show on ESPN.)

“Proud of John,” Belue wrote in a text. “Works hard. Laser focus. Determined. It’s been a great run! He’s been a good partner.” Then he added, “It’s not easy for big city NE guy down south.” (Yes, Kincade still professes love for his Philly teams.)

Buck and Kincade  are on weekdays now from noon to 3 p.m. (680/The Fan is also heard on the FM dial at 93.7.)

The Fan’s boss David Dickey has been building his line up over the past five years and now feels it’s as close to complete as it’s ever been.

The Fan remains the most popular sports talk though 92.9/The Game is gamely trying to get into the game on a much stronger signal – but far less stable and experienced line up.

Who still listens to terrestrial radio?

Can't pick up the station AM OR FM. I wish they had a stronger signal like 92.9.

Meh, I'm not a fan of John Kincaide.  He reminds me of Colin Cowherd except he's not nearly as erudite.  While Cowherd's style is frequently obnoxious, he at least has an analytical view of sports marketing and competition that makes him tolerable in short bursts.  On the other hand Kincaide bounces back and forth between provocative and ingratiating with trite commentary that usually lacks humor or intelligence.

In the modern world of narrowcasting, I know he has his fans and he'll make the company money so good for him and them.

Maybe John can teach Buck how to properly pronounce the name of the Falcons' GM.  Jeez.  You've only had 5+ years to get it right.

Sorry; can't/won't listen to him; the "Balkan" episode of 2011 will stick in my craw forever.  Nothing more than a shill for Mike Gearon.

If I had known he had cancer years ago, I would've rooted for the cancer.

I approve of the contract extension.  Belue is arguaably the greatest Bulldawg and Kincade may be a Yankee but he has been affected by his close association with Belue and I know he loves UGA. At least he can't stand Tech which is enough for most.

Buck and Kincade are tried and true. Like a cold sip of sweet tea on a hot, sunny day.

At least Buck is, not so much Kincade. LOL.

Must be a severe lack of talent for the Atlanta market. I'm just happy I don't have to hear his nauseating voice much, now that he and Buck are the the trees that fell in the forest time slot. I don't get it, not that I don't like him, just doesn't bring much but whining to the table.

Kincade is okay for a yankee, so congrats to him. B&K is the weakest show in the lineup though. They need a third wheel who has a sense of humor. Mike Bell?
