Peter Thomas, the husband of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” cast mate Cynthia Bailey, said he is trying to buy the property where he operates his lounge Bar One on Memorial Drive, in a brief interview Thursday.

Last month, one of the landlords for the property in Grant Park where Bar One is located filed a complaint saying Thomas hadn’t been paying his rent to the tune of more than $100,000. (Details here.)

Thomas refuted this assertion at the time, saying he had discovered the two brothers (Al and Andrew Whittingham) he was paying his rent to (who were co-owners of the property) were not transferring his rents to the bank. Rather, he said they were pocketing the money, forcing another landlord  Eloshua Elliott to file for bankruptcy protection. So Thomas said he has been keeping rent payment in escrow until that was straightened out.

The lack of mortgage payments forced Elliott to place 687 Memorial Drive, where Bar One is located.

A for-sale sign has been up for two weeks in front of Bar One.

Thomas said he’s competing with several potential buyers of the property but since he’s already there, he feels he has an inside track to win. Plus, he feels he gave a very competitive bid. He has been there for three years.

Through all the recent turmoil, Thomas has kept the bar open. It’s business as usual, he said.

Thomas also took up space last year across the street to house his wife’s modeling agency and dubbed it Industry Space. It opened last summer and was featured a couple of times on the Bravo show.

But the building was shut down in November over permitting issues in a dispute with Cabbagetown. Heather Kenney, who handles Thomas’ business operations, said they are seeking variances so they can open without enough parking spots. They had been renting out parking spots in the daytime at Bar One to handle the traffic.

In the interim, Thomas has continued to pay rent for the property at 670 Memorial Drive.

Fortunately for Cynthia, she never fully left her original modeling agency space at 924 Garrett Street in  Glenwood Park. For a time last year she was using both spaces. So when Industry Space was shuttered, she simply stayed on Garrett Street, according to her spokesman Satchel Jester.

Derek Blanks Photography, which had  also been at Industry Space, has since moved to a new location, Kenney said.

I happened to catch Peter shooting a possible spin-off show for Bravo featuring the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” husbands/fiances, including Todd Tucker, Gregg Leakes, Apollo Nida and him. They had all the windows blocked off because it was daytime and the shoot was supposed to be at night. (The magic of reality TV!)

The landlord’s attorney Dana Tucker Davis did not return calls and emails for comment.

The fact this article states that there is possibly a spin off with the Altanta husbands/finaces will definently explain why Peter has been getting so much face time and being in everyone's business on the show but they should take a poll before they throw good money after bad.  Who really wants to watch a reality show with just Todd, Peter, Gregg and you can't even count Apollo, he looking at 5 to 10 right now, I know I don't.  Will not be watching that show.

Industry Space is in Cabbage Town, but Bar One (right across the street) is in Grant Park??? I don't think so. Bar One is NOT in Grant Park. Grant Park is south of I-20. Bar One is NORTH of I-20. Just be honest about the part of town it's in. It's in the HOOD!! NOT in the trendy Grant Park. Has Peter been giving you free drinks, Rodney?

These clowns are neither Housewives nor Real.  They're a continuing blight on the good people of Atlanta.  Atlanta is a city of honest, educated and hard working people.  These ghetto, trashy faux celebs do not represent the real Atlanta.  Check and see just how many of them have scammed their way into houses, cars, businesses and just check to see how many legitimate places will not allow them to film in their spaces.

Everybody is tired of getting burned by these frauds.  We want our children to be exposed to heroes who work hard, pay their bills, are faithful to their spouses and that have home training.  You'd think these scumbags had never been raised to appear in public by their filthy mouths and violent ways.

Can't the AJC find anything else to write about other than this piece of trash?

Bar One needs to go away. The employees say they are barely getting paid and when they are it's very late. It's a night club surrounded by family neighborhoods in a totally different demographic than the club draws. There is no management of traffic or safety for the clients or residents because of how poorly Bar One is run. He clearly doesn't know how to manage money or a business since every business he has ever operated has gone under. If the bank approves his application, they are the biggest fools. And I can assure you the neighborhoods around it will continue to push for a more appropriate business for the area.

Deadbeats always have an excuse or a lie about not paying their rent or other bills.

I wish Cynthia would stop turning her back and allowing this man to handle things on his own, because his track record shows that he cannot handle anything on his own.  He is a mess.  You don't know what other catastrophy is coming next.  Mamma Joyce should take a lesson from Cynthia's mom, step out the way, a no good man will eventually show his own hand.  Cynthia's mom is so wise.

Peter is not doing a thing.  The bank of Cynthia Bailey is trying to save this bar, Peter has not had a thing since they married.  It's amazing to me how manly he comes off when really he a chick being taken care of by his woman.  Cynthia is the provider, the cover and the rescuer in this marriage.  I don't understand Cynthia, this man as not an assest, he's a liability.  Get out of this marriage, find you a real man that really got it going on and enjoy the rest of your life the way you should, you worked too hard for your money to see it flying out the window daily.  This man has a horrible bad luck cloud that follows him when it comes to business, he is incapable of being successful in business, it's not in his DNA.  Admirer his tenacity though but he needs to quit.  he's horrible.

What is this muddled mess that you wrote?

@Telefunk You are misinformed.  Grant Park stretches north to Oakland Cemetery, with a thriving section - including a portion of the historic district - NORTH of 1-20.  However, Bar One is definitely not an asset to whatever neighborhood it sits in.  It is definitely ghetto.  Same for the faux "business" across the street - whatever they make it out to be.  Like RHOA, it's all for show, lacking real substance or character.

@Atlantaishome @Telefunk  Grant Park is hardly the ghetto? Do you even live in Atlanta? It’s filled with gorgeous historic homes and the sort of ilk who appreciate fine craftsmanship and in-town living. Bar One might be ghetto, but Grant Park is HARDLY HARDLY ghetto.

@shopgirl4030 @Atlantaishome@Telefunk I believe Atlantaishome is saying Bar One is ghetto, not Grant Park and that Bar One doesn't fit the historic neighborhood, which I completely agree. Grant Park STARTS at Memorial Drive and then goes South past I-20. Cabbagetown is across the street on the north side of Memorial so yes, each "business" is in a different neighborhood. And Bar One does not belong in either.
