Kicks 101.5 has found a mid-day replacement for Jenn Hobby named CJ Lusk.

Lusk has been a morning host at top 40 stations in Memphis and Charlotte. He starts at Kicks on Friday.

On his Twitter feed, he describes himself as: “Host…Follower of Christ…Lover of Music…Proud Husband…Father…Son…Brother…Grandson…Nephew…Uncle…Friend.”

“CJ’s style is genuine, authentic and highly engaging on the air and in person,” said Kicks program director Scott Lindy in a press release.

Hobby, who had her second child last fall, has not announced her next move since stepping down from Kicks. She worked there three years after a decade-long stint on the Bert Show with Q100.

Will Gara

Former B98.5 producer and marketing man Will Gara will be the new marketing and advertising director for Richard Eldredge’s EldredgeATL.com website.

Gara worked as a producer for Kelly Stevens & Alpha Trivette when they were the morning hosts on B98.5 through much of the 2000s and on the Steve & Vikki show when it was on briefly on B98.5 as well between 2008 and 2010.

Eldredge was the Peach Buzz man for much of the 1990s and 2000s but left in 2009. He also works at VOX and Atlanta magazine. He started this site a few months ago as his answer to Peach Buzz.

Your odds of winning $1,000 on IHeartRadio’s national contest each hour from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. is far better than winning $1.5 billion in PowerBall tomorrow night. Sure, $1,000 is not $1.5 billion but isn’t it fun to win money, no matter how much? And you won’t be hounded by long-lost relatives and scammers either!

I also wanted to note to you that this Power 96.1 contest includes dozens of stations sharing the loot so you aren’t just competing against other Power 96.1 listeners but listeners from all over the country.

The Bert Show over at Q100 is trying to get some buzz for their new guy Brian Moote by giving away $1,000 a day to its 17 affiliates – $500 twice a day. Bert Weiss facetiously said on air that this is an incentive to like him. “They say money can’t buy you love,” Moote said. “I’m going to challenge that.”

Weiss notes the chances of winning this prize is far greater than some national contests, which is true.

“He didn’t annoy me the way the other guy did,” said one of the winners in the audio above, alluding to Jeff Dauler.

In the meantime, Drex, Cassiday and Tingle just celebrated their first-year birthday at Star 94. But with Dauler coming aboard early next month, it’s unclear where he’s going to land and where management will play the current morning show.
