Former 90.1/WABE-FM host John Lemley has gotten married and is adding a second show on 1690/WMLB-AM that is not classical music related.

He and his partner Mike Selk recently tied the knot in a private ceremony at the Brice Hotel in Savannah.

He is also soft launching a show on “The Voice of the Arts” called “John Lemley’s High Tea” from 4 to 6 p.m. featuring standards, swing and lounge music. He said this is the first time he hasn’t tackled classical since he was 16.

Lemley will continue to host his classical City Cafe program but now as a weekly show on Sundays from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and work as an anchor and editor at NewsRadio 106.7.

He was cut from WABE a little more than a year ago when the station dropped daytime classical music.

Steven RobertsTwo half brothers from Lawrenceville are featured on the new Bravo show “Tour Group,” which debuted Tuesday night March 1.

The show is sort of like “The Amazing Race” minus the race. The 11 people are joined by three tour guides and they travel to countries such as Morocco, Kenya and Japan to learn about themselves and also clash with each other. They include a stock picker, a mixed-race couple, a former model, twin sisters who are not close and a really pampered woman who instantly annoys with her spoiled ways.

Based on the first episode, Michael Cook and Steven Roberts of Marietta are happy-go-lucky guys who avoid trouble.

“We’re not big on controversy,” Michael said. “I don’t like drama. We were there to get a life experience and grow as individuals. Drama for me clouds that up.”

Michael, 29, is a hair stylist how used to work at Van Michael in Buckhead but now does acting and modeling as well. Steven, 27, is in marketing selling time shares. “We’ve always been close,” said Steve. “We’ve done everything together.”

Steven suggested they join this show to help Michael get over a recent breakup. (And for any actor, TV exposure is not a bad thing.) But Michael said he resisted seeking another relationship on the trip.

Michael said since this is truly a world tour, they were able to relax and try new experiences without the need to compete like “The Amazing Race.” “Though I do believe if it had been a competition,” he said, “we would have crushed everybody. That’s our personalities!”

He said they were able to frolic in the ocean and sleep in five-star resorts. “We normally stay in Holiday Inns,” Michael said. He was willing to try anything except bow down to a God of another religion. “I’m not disrespecting their faith,” he said. “I’m just very strong in the Christian faith.”

Michael said seeing poorer people in different countries made him realize his problems weren’t so big. “Seeing the joy on people’s faces even in the face of poverty, the unity and way they treated each other gives me appreciate for life.”

Steven said he realized he had an America-centric view of the world. “We have so much in front of us, we take things for granted.”
