This is no April Fool’s joke. Stand-up comic Katt Williams, who now is living in Gainesville and has headlined Philips Arena, popped into the 80-seat Laughing Skull Lounge Friday night to test out of a few jokes.

Williams, who has been arrested numerous times in recent weeks for a variety of violent acts, was released on bond Thursday after fighting with a 17 year old and being arrested for disorderly conduct.

According to Laughing Skull owner Marshall Chiles, Williams told the crowd that it was the smallest club he had played in seven years “and it made him fall in love with the craft again.” He planned to use the club again to test out more material.

He said according to friends, Williams “killed it” and “said that it was magical what he did. They felt like they were in the presence of greatness.”

One friend texted Chiles: “It was truly a therapy session for him. He was honestly a little timid to start off but once the audience got behind him, he started rolling. It was incredible to experience.”
