Expanding upon last’s event, the Atlanta Ultimate Women’s Expo this year includes a raft of reality show, singers, actors and talk show hosts as speakers including NeNe Leakes (“Real Housewives of Atlanta”), Oscar winner Mo’Nique, Teresa Giudice (“Real Housewives of New Jersey”), Monica and HLN host Nancy Grace.

The event is held at May 14 and 15 at the Georgia World Congress Center.  Regular admission is $10 with tickets available here with discounts available.

Others scheduled to appear: Patti Stanger (Bravo’s “Millionaire Matchmaker”), actress Sheryl Lee Ralph (“Moesha”), Kim Fields (“Real Housewives of Atlanta,” “Facts of Life,” “Living Single”), TV judge Lauren Lake, Dr. Heavenly Kimes (Bravo’s “Married to Medicine”) and Cynthia Bailey (“Real Housewives of Atlanta”). Actress Melissa Gilbert will be doing a book signing as well.

Last year, Leakes clashed with Wendy Williams backstage.

There will be seminars, book signings, exhibits, a fashion runway and beauty makeovers. Details here.

The organizers similar host similar events in ten other cities including Chicago, Dallas, Houston and Los Angeles.

Oddly, the event does not appear to do traditional publicity. Trying to track down a media contact was a challenge. None are listed on the website and nobody has contacted me about it.  The company appears to be based out of San Ramon, Calif. I left a message with exhibitor relations.

Goldstar reviews of last year’s Atlanta expo from attendees were mostly positive.

Angel M. Taylor posted this:

I had a wonderful experience!! Nails done, makeup makeover and tips, hair information, clothing options, food, music, mini-workout, new products, and more!!! I had so much fun! Wendy Williams gave a wonderful talk that was good for all ages!!

And M. Mitchell:

For Sisters Only on steroids! There were a lot of vendors, good variety. The main stage seemed to flow well. Just couldn’t always get a good view depending who was on stage. Seemed to be well organized. I would suggest this event to others.

Jean Plant was not as happy:

TOOOOOOOOOO crowded. I wasn’t even able to stop to see things I would have like to see – jewelry, scarves, etc. No way to see or hear the “popular” speakers. That should be held in a separate auditorium. Pure chaos. I was afraid that there would be a serious emergency and it would be pandemonium. I would not attend again unless I hear of major improvements for attendees.

Here are a handful of Yelp reviews about past expos.

And here’s a ripoff report from 2013 from a dissatisfied vendor who complained that the audience was mostly folks seeking freebies and not to buy.
