TV best bets with hot dogs, fireworks and the series finale of ‘Royal Pains’

The doctor is no longer in. USA closes shop after eight seasons of its steady performing summer hit “Royal Pains” Wednesday.

And on Monday, you get the annual hot dog eating contest in Coney Island  on ESPN, plus lots and lots of fireworks, be it in New York (NBC), D.C. (GPB), Boston (CBS) or Atlanta (WSB-TV).

Other summer series returns include “Zoo” on CBS Tuesday and “Tyrant” on FX Wednesday. And season two of Starz’ “Outlander” Saturday.

This covers Monday, July 4 through Sunday, July 10, 2016.

MONDAY

“Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest” 3 p.m. ESPN — The 100th anniversary contest.

“Peachtree Road Race: Start to Finish” 8 p.m. NBC — Recounting the events earlier in the day.

“Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular” 9 p.m. NBC — Willie Geist and Tamron Hall emcee. Perfromers include Kenny Chesney, 5 Seconds of Summer, Meghan Trainor and the Radio City Rockettes.

“A Capitol Fourth” 8 p.m. GPB — Tom Bergeron hosts the celebration of America’s 240th birthday, which features Smokey Robinson, Kenny Loggins, Gavin DeGraw, Cassadee Pope, Amber Riley, Jackie Evancho and Sutton Foster.

“Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular” 9  p.m. CBS — Performers include: Demi Lovato, Nick Jonas and Little Big Town.

“Devious Maids” 9 p.m. Lifetime — Rosie puts herself at risk in an attempt to prove Spence’s innocence.

“Houdini & Doyle” 9 p.m. CBS (series finale)  — The crew investigates when a minister in a small Ontario town awakens one day to find all dead and no sign of violence.

“Unreal” 10 p.m. Lifetime — Coleman invites Rachel to the Impact Awards.

“Georga Salutes America” 10 p.m. ABC —  The fireworks show from Centennial Olympic Park.

TUESDAY

“Pretty Little Liars” 8 p.m. Freeform — The ladies attempt to rescue Ali from the psychiatric hospital to protect her from Uber A’s threats, but they make a fatal mistake that impacts everything.

Animal Kingdom” 9 p.m. TNT — Pope goes to extreme measures when Deran won’t return home.

The Have and the Have Nots” 9 p.m. OWN — Hanna is motivated to gain custody of Quincy Jr. after a conversation with Pearl.

Zoo” 9 p.m. CBS (second season debut) — A tragedy strikes the team’s only ally within the government, leaving Jackson and the team on their own to stop a surge of animal-related attacks from destroying the city of Geneva,

Uncle Buck” 9:30 p.m. ABC (first season finale) — Will and Alexis arrive home to a house in complete chaos

Feed the Beast” 10 p.m. AMC — Revisiting the past, Tommy questions Dion’s friendship with Rie.

Duck Dynasty” 9 p.m. A&E (10th season debut)— The Robertsons celebrate Willie & Korie’s 25th anniversary.

“Hollywood Divas” 9 p.m. TV One (third season debut) Golden hosts a party, but Paula is not invited, leading to a confrontation between the two.

“Wayward Pines” 9 p.m. Fox — Theo and Megan take opposite views of the Abbies’ intelligence as Theo tries to communicate with their leader.

“American Gothic” 10 p.m. CBS — Cam tries to erase his past as Garrett reconnects with his and Alison seeks campaign support from a local football star, but one of her siblings complicate matters.

“Greenleaf” 10 p.m. OWN — A family in the church asks for prayers; Lady Mae tries to mend fences between the Bishop and Deacon Sykes.

Royal Pains” 10 p.m. USA  (series finale) — Boris, who is planning to leave the Hamptons, asks Hank to join him.

“Battlebots” 8 p.m. ABC — NFL’s Vernon Davis is the guest judge as 32 teams advance out of the qualifying round.

“Alone 9 p.m. History — As winter arrives food sources dwindle and the remaining participants need to take risks.
