Stephany Fisher, who left CBS46 last year after 12 years, announced on Facebook that she is going to be a freelance reporter in Atlanta for The Washington Post.

She wrote a short note, noting, “Let’s see if this old dog can still hunt.”

Fisher, who was a primary evening anchor for CBS46, didn’t provide any details on what she will do for the Post. Like every media operation, she will surely be asked to do multi-media work as well as traditional print stories. (The Post has a freelance “Talent Network.”)

Since she departed CBS46 about a year ago, she has been teaching news writing at Georgia State University, according to her Linkedin page. Fisher has worked in news broadcasting for more than 20 years in markets such as Greenville, S.C. and Portland, Ore.

There are two openings in the Atlanta local news market: Lisa Rayam’s spot on Fox 5 and Erin Coleman’s post at Channel 2 Action News.
