Three years ago, I made my one single appearance on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” jotting notes down after a court case regarding Kenya Moore and an unhappy landlord. At the time, she was perfectly willing to talk, with the cameras rolling.

Today, Moore was back in Sandy Springs municipal court but the “Real Housewives” cameras were not around. She paid a $1,000 fine for a housewarming party at her Sandy Springs home that didn’t have proper permits. Her time in front of the judge was over within a minute.

Although she said hello and shook my hand, Moore declined to comment about the case, merely touting her hair care line and her website over and over as WSB-TV’s Tom Regan and I tried to get her to say something else. We failed.

Last month, Sheree Whitfield paid a similar fine for comparable permit violations for a party she held in late October that was reportedly more disruptive than Moore’s party. Plus, Whitfield has annoyed neighbors because her house has been unoccupied for several years.

Moore’s home is about a quarter mile from Whitfield’s. Moore’s party aired in the first and second episodes of season 9 of “Real Housewives” last month.

Whitfield’s party, which happened October 28, will air at a later date.

Moore was supposed to be at that earlier hearing but had a conflict so they rescheduled her meeting for today.
