Jason Bailey and “Southside” Steve Rickman have been signed for three more years as the morning show for Rock 100.5.

They have been a team for two years, replacing the Regular Guys.

The team in 2016 finished in a tie for 10th among 18 to 34 year old with an average of 3.56 rating over the first 48 weeks of the year via Nielsen Audio. That’s up from 17th place in that same demo in 2015 when the duo pulled in a 2.93.

Bailey and Southside also improved among 25 to 54 year olds, from a 2.64 to a 2.85 but the ranking remained the same: 16th place.

Its ratings lagged behind those of the final year of the Regular Guys in 2014 among 18-34 (5.22, fourth place) and 25-54 (3.18, 14th place).

Greg Ausham, Rock 100.5 WNNX Program Director, said in a press release: “Bailey and Southside have grown steadily in audience over the past two years and we are thrilled to continue having this great morning show to start the day.”

A caveat regarding the ratings: my stats cover the traditional 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. period and the Bailey and Southside morning show stops at 9 a.m. So their numbers might be better isolated within the 5:30 a.m to 9 a.m. period they air than I have shown. I’m not sure because I don’t have individual hour breakdowns.

Bailey, in a text, said he felt “overwhelmed with happiness and joy” over the news.

“The Bailey and Southside Show is the foundation of Rock 100.5,” said their boss Sean Shannon in a press release. “Our goal is and has been to build the South’s premiere rock and entertainment station.  Renewing Bailey and Southside ensures that we deliver on that promise.”

Rickman said in text that he is  “thrilled to get this deal done. Cumulus recognized the eight years that I have spent at Rock 100.5 promotionally, the endorsements that I have, as well as my loyalty to them and the market! I love Atlanta and the Atlantans that love to laugh and work so hard. It’s an honor to work in the city I was born and raised in. I’ll never be able to put into words how much I love people and what I do for a living. I am so happy and excited with this three-year contract and the future with the faith I have in Cumulus and the faith Cumulus has in me. I give this contract a ‘Yeah, c’mon!’ ”

The show airs from 5:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Rickman is the one surviving Rock 100.5 member from the Regular Guys team. Larry Wachs, who created the Regular Guys with Eric Von Haessler, is trying to create a new Regular Guys team with new people. Tim Andrews has joined Von Haessler at News 95.5 and AM 750 WSB on Von Haessler’s daily 11 a.m. show.
