Kelly Clarkson, who is headlining the Star 94.1 Christmas concert December 12 at the Coca-Cola Roxy, joined CBS’s James Corden for his latest Carpool Karaoke on Wednesday night.
They performed bits of some of her biggest hits including “Since U Been Gone,” “Love So Soft,” “Because of You,” “Stronger” and her current single “A Whole Lotta Woman.” Plus, he set up an awkward date between Clarkson and her hubby/manager Brandon Blackstock with champagne, roses, a violinist and chocolate-covered strawberries.
“I feel like we’re making a porn,” Blackstock joked.
“That is not the romantic thing to say!” an exasperated Corden reprimanded Blackstock. And just watch Blackstock’s attempt at “romantic” talk. It doesn’t go well:
The next video YouTube showed is this compilation of Adele, Lady Gaga, Elton John Chris Martin, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Selena Gomez, Gwen Stefani and Demi Lovato singing “All I Want For Christmas” from last year. Oh, and Mariah Carey, too. How did I miss this?
The 57-year-old home is 2,500 square feet, which isn’t bad but hardly palatial. But you can see the Hollywood sign. Check it out here.
Season 10’s Casey Abrams performs “We Three Kings” with Alexander Jean. You might see “Dancing With the Stars” dancer Mark Ballas, too, who is part of Alexander Jean with wife BC Jean. Yes, Casey with that beard looks quite royal, eh?
Katharine McPhee, promoting her new standards album “I Fall In Love Too Easily,” performed “I”ve Grown Accustomed To His Face” on “Live With Kelly and Ryan” Monday.
This was a reunion with McPhee and Seacrest.
Season 9 winner Lee DeWyze’s latest song is called “Breakdown,” an atmospheric Coldplay-ish tune. He has an album set to come out early next year:
Brian May in his book “Queen in 3-D” describes how the band signed Adam Lambert as lead singer here.
Roger and I have seen literally thousands of singers in our lifetimes including some great ones auditioning for our We Will Rock Youshow (which, did I mention, ran for 12 solid years in The Dominion Theatre on the Tottenham Court Road in London?) but we’ve never seen or heard anything like Adam. I always think that Freddie, with a wicked smile, would say something like “I hate you, Madam Lambert,” because even Freddie would have been gobsmacked at his range and his ability to reinterpret these songs which the four of us originally created together.
Clay Aiken’s Tweet of the week:
