Before Frank Ski returned as full-time morning host on V-103, he filed for federal Chapter 7 bankruptcy with debts exceeding $1 million.
Ski came back as weekday host last week on the top-rated R&B/hip-hop station. He led the show from 1998 to 2012, pulling in monster ratings. His personal finances took a hit after he left that job and his Buckhead restaurant suffered major losses. He divorced his wife Tanya of 20 years in 2015 and recently remarried. His ex-wife last year also filed a motion of contempt in state court because he wasn’t able to fully pay his child custody for his three high school-age sons.
After this story came out, he talked about his financial issues on air on V-103 Wednesday morning. Co-host Wanda Smith asked him whether ego may have played into some of his mistakes. He admitted that yes, that is true. “It’s hard to admit you fail,” he said. “I was arrogant.”
