Sheree Whitfield’s jailbird boyfriend denied early release

On Sunday’s episode of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” shot last fall, Sheree Whitfield spoke with her boyfriend Tyrone Gilliams by phone and they discussed plans for building out his “man cave” in the basement of her home dubbed Chateau Sheree.

During the episode, Whitfield also told her youngest daughter Kaleigh about him for the first time and said she hoped he would be out soon.

Gilliams was sentenced in 2013 to a ten-year sentence for an elaborate Ponzi scheme that cost investors about $5 million. He was attempting to get his sentence shortened, according to federal documents procured by Radar Online, arguing that he wasn’t the “leader” in his scheme, the government “improperly withheld” evidence, and his counsel had been “ineffective.”

But a New York federal court judge recently rejected his arguments, saying he offered no new evidence.

He is set to be released November 14, 2022, more than four years away, according to Radar. He is at a prison in Yazoo City, Miss., which takes more than six hours to get to from Atlanta.

Until Gilliams came along, Whitfield hadn’t dated seriously since her divorce from Bob Whitifeld a decade ago. She seems super happy with Gilliams but will she wait that long?
