”The Walking Dead” has been largely shot in the woods in and around Senoia but had made occasional forays into urban Atlanta.
Production for season nine has returned to the city for the first time since season five. It is shooting at the Georgia State Capitol his week and appears to be using the space as an abandoned museum.
The show fictionally left Atlanta for Virgina season six. Is it possible Rick’s crew might have ventured into D.C.?
According to Channel 2 Action News, Governor Nathan Deal stopped by the set today. He has been an enthusiastic supporter of the tax credits for production companies that brought “The Walking Dead” to the region in the first place in 2010.
I also heard from a good source that actress Brett Butler (“Grace Under Fire”) has been cast in some sort of recurring role for season nine.
