Is ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ testing two potential cast members Claudia Jordan and Demetria McKinney?

“Real Housewives of Atlanta” has not changed cast members out since season five. Why should they? The show hit record ratings this past sixth season with the existing seven.
But producers know story lines get stale fast unless new blood is thrown into the mix. So they are reportedly testing out two potential new cast members for season seven, currently in production: Rickey Smiley‘s newest radio morning show host Claudia Jordan and “Tyler Perry’s House of Payne” actress and singer Demetria McKinney.
UPDATE: I have heard from a good source that McKinney has signed a contract and will become a full-time cast [More]

“Real Housewives of Atlanta’ cast member Porsha Williams has landed a permanent regular gig on another TV show: syndicated pop culture show “Dish Nation.”
A few weeks ago, she signed on as a temporary fill-in cast member of Rickey Smiley’s portion of “Dish Nation,” which includes Smiley, Gary With Da Tea and HeadKrack. She has now parlayed that into a full-time gig.
Curiously, the regular morning show recently added Claudia Jordan, who replaced Ebony Steele. Jordan will not be part of “Dish Nation,” which is taped after the morning show at Smiley’s studios in downtown Atlanta from around 10 a.m. to [More]

As a follow-up to his eight-year federal prison sentence last week, “Real Housewives of Atlanta” husband Apollo Nida is required to pay back virtually all the money he stole through his various financial schemes to the tune of $1.9 million. The restitution hearing occurred this week.
I’m not sure if he’ll ever be able to pay all that back since his employment opportunities will be less than rosy once his term is up around 2022.
Once he’s free at age 43, he will have to give authorities in restitution at least $250 a month and 25% of gross monthly income in excess [More]

Apollo Nida, the husband of Phaedra Parks on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” Tuesday received an eight-year sentence by a federal court judge for his four-year scheme involving bank, mail and wire fraud and ID theft of more than 50 individuals to the tune of an estimated $2 million.
He cooperated with authorities, which helped reduce his sentence.
Judge Charles Pannell, under sentencing guidelines, could have given him anywhere from 92 to 115 months. The government was okay with the lower end of those guidelines. Pannell went slightly above the 92 months partly because white collar criminals of his ilk tend [More]

Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker finally jumped the broom. And Mama Joyce didn’t stop it on tonight’s “Kandi’s Wedding,” taped in April.
“She didn’t really say nothing,” Kandi said during “Watch What Happens Live.” “She messed up a lot of pictures. But I feel as long as she didn’t start saying anything, I was okay.”
“I thought the energy was bad. But most people ignored it,” Todd said.
As for how life has been between Todd and Mama Joyce three months later:
“We’re taking it day by day,” Todd said.

NeNe Leakes, just a few weeks after finishing up “Dancing With the Stars,” took on a fun 10-day role starting on Friday in Las Vegas hosting “Zumanity —The Sensual Side of Cirque du Soleil.” Here are some photos taken opening night.
To USA Today, she described her role as “the Mistress of Sensuality.” “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star’s gig is normally filled by a drag queen.
“I’m hosting the show,” she explains. “It’s very tough, and it’s very demanding. So it’s a lot of dialogue, and when to enter and exit and the timing.” Leakes has been working with the [More]

I just got back from out of town and will keep this recap brief.
The wedding itself is ready to go and even Mama Joyce (however reluctantly) is even willing to give away Kandi Burruss.
But there’s that pesky pre-nup.
Being the woman who likes to do stuff ultralast second, Kandi thrusted the pre-nup on fiance Todd Tucker just two days before the big event.
For that, she should be sorry because anything this important, as Todd reasonably said, should have been done weeks earlier.
Kandi figured Todd would just sign it, no questions asked, because he has stated time and time again he [More]

“Mama Joyce can dish it but she can’t take it!” – Todd Tucker.
Todd’s mom Sharon took on Kandi Burruss’ mom Mama Joyce and Mama Joyce wouldn’t give an inch.
“I know you speak very negatively about my child,” Sharon tells Mama Joyce during a dinner that everyone anticipated would go badly. And it did.
Sharon has been hearing all about Mama Joyce’s negative words about Todd from Todd. Todd was more than obliged to let his mother give Kandi’s mom her just deserts. It’s clear he takes some satisfaction from it.
Kandi, as usual, hates all this confrontation but can’t seem to stop [More]

All cast members were under contract to come back season 7. It was just a question of the money. And after the highest rated season in the show’s history, I’m sure all six received raises.
Production begins again next month for Bravo’s most popular “Housewives” franchise. It’s no surprise the network doesn’t want to mess with a winning formula. These six have been together since season five, when Kenya Moore and [More]

Decatur’s Omari Hardwick has some job security for another year.
His new Starz drama “Power,” which debuted last Saturday, was given the green light for a second season just a few days after the debut, which drew about 2 million viewers, including re-airings.
The show is set and shot in New York City and production is expected to resume this fall.
Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas is always on the hunt for new TV gigs. Her latest: judge on a new TruTV show called “Fake Off” where people re-enact famous pop-culture moments.
How they do so will include Kabuki theater, acrobatics, dance, costume, and illusion. She joins [More]
